Celebrating Legacy and Dedication: Founders Day 2025 at Tirath Ram Shah Charitable Hospital

On May 17th, 2025, Tirath Ram Shah Charitable Hospital (TRSCH) proudly celebrated 70th Founders Day, a significant occasion that reflects on its origins, honors its legacy, and reaffirms its unwavering commitment to compassionate care. The day brought together leadership, medical professionals, students, and staff in a spirit of unity, reverence, and gratitude. This year’s celebration began on a deeply spiritual and auspicious note with a Hawan and Pooja ceremony held within the hospital premises. The sacred rituals were conducted with full devotion, invoking blessings for the continued growth, health, and prosperity of the hospital and all those who walk through its doors.

Honoring the Vision of the Founder

Founders Day is more than a date on the calendar—it is a tribute to the vision and dedication of the founders who laid the foundation of TRSCH with the intent to serve humanity. Over the decades, the hospital has grown not only in size and infrastructure but also in reputation as a beacon of ethical, affordable, and high-quality healthcare. By remembering our roots, we continue to stay aligned with the values that define us—service, compassion, integrity, and excellence. Every corner of the hospital echoes the spirit of seva (selfless service), and the Founders Day celebration is a heartfelt acknowledgment of this enduring philosophy.

A Sacred Beginning: The Hawan and Pooja Ceremony

The day's celebrations commenced with a traditional Hawan, a fire ritual performed to purify the environment and seek divine blessings. The ceremony created a serene and spiritually uplifting atmosphere within the hospital. Sanskrit mantras echoed through the corridors, bringing a sense of peace and calm that was both grounding and rejuvenating. The Pooja, performed alongside the Hawan, was led by a team of priests and witnessed by key members of the hospital’s leadership and staff.

Participating in the ceremony were Mrs. Geeta Rajpal, Trustee of TRSCH, Dr. J.P. Singh, the esteemed Medical Director, senior Consultant Doctors, Nursing leaders, support staff, and administrative team members. Their presence highlighted the collective commitment of TRSCH’s leadership to uphold the hospital’s founding principles. Mrs. Rajpal and Dr. Singh also took a moment to pay homage to the hospital’s founder and reflect on the journey that the institution has undertaken since its inception.

Hospital in Bloom: A Testament to Student Dedication

One of the most visually stunning aspects of the celebration was the vibrant floral decoration adorning every part of the hospital. The entire facility was transformed into a garden of colors, radiating positivity and beauty. From the entrance lobby to patient waiting areas, every section exuded festive cheer. What made this effort even more special was that it was entirely undertaken by the students of the School of Nursing. The young and enthusiastic nursing students worked tirelessly in the days leading up to the celebration.

Their creativity, attention to detail, and sheer dedication were evident in every garland, rangoli, and floral arrangement. This act of devotion not only added aesthetic beauty to the day but also symbolized the spirit of teamwork, discipline, and respect for tradition that TRSCH nurtures in its nursing education. The hospital leadership took note of their efforts and applauded them for their hard work and spirit of service.

A Moment of Reflection and Community

While the occasion was deeply rooted in tradition, it also served as a time for the entire hospital family to reflect on the milestones achieved over the years. From humble beginnings, TRSCH has grown into one of Delhi’s most respected charitable hospitals, offering affordable healthcare without compromising on quality or ethics. There was a sense of shared ownership in the hospital’s journey—a journey driven by selfless service and continuous improvement.

Uniting Generations

What made this year’s Founders Day even more meaningful was the presence of different generations of caregivers—senior consultants who have served the hospital for decades, mid-career professionals leading change, and students just beginning their journey in healthcare. The event acted as a bridge, connecting these generations through shared purpose and mutual respect. This generational collaboration and continuity are what make TRSCH unique—a place where tradition meets innovation, and where the torch of service is continually passed on with pride.

Upholding the Spirit of Seva

As the Hawan concluded and the fragrance of incense faded, what remained was a deep sense of unity and spiritual fulfillment. Every member of the TRSCH family carried forward the blessings and renewed motivation from the day’s events back into their respective roles. Founders Day is not just a day of rituals or decoration; it is a symbol of our roots, our responsibilities, and our relationships—with our patients, with each other, and with the values that guide us. The celebrations served as a gentle reminder that every role, whether administrative, clinical, or support, is part of a larger mission—to heal, to care, and to uplift.

Looking Ahead

As TRSCH looks to the future, the lessons of the past remain more relevant than ever. In an era of rapid technological advancement and evolving healthcare systems, staying grounded in ethical, patient-centric care remains the hospital’s strongest asset. With each passing year, Founders Day continues to remind us of the importance of resilience, humility, service, and gratitude. It’s a day to pause, reflect, and realign with the original vision—to make quality healthcare accessible to all, irrespective of socioeconomic background.
