Founded by a charitable trust initiated by Lala Ishwer Das Sawhney, the hospital was inaugurated by Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first President of India. Over the decades, TRSH has evolved into a significant healthcare institution, blending medical excellence with compassionate care.

Historical Background

The inception of TRSH dates back to 1949, when the Sawhney family established a charitable trust to commemorate their ancestor, Lala Tirath Ram Shah. The hospital was among the few private charitable institutions of its size in Northern India during that era. Despite challenges, including the nationalization of the insurance sector in 1956, the hospital continued its mission, serving both affluent and underprivileged sections of society.

Child and Adult Care Development Centre

The hospital houses a dedicated Child & Adult Care Development Centre, offering solutions for psychological, behavioral, educational, occupational therapy, and sensory problems. The center caters to children with special needs, including conditions like Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), cerebral palsy, and learning disabilities. Services include psychological assessments, counseling, special education, and occupational therapy, all under one roof.
