"Upholding Excellence, Compassion, and Integrity in Healthcare"
lab-service
Tirath Ram Shah Charitable Hospital (TRSCH), with its legacy of compassionate care and clinical excellence, is committed to maintaining the highest standards of ethical and professional conduct.

As a trusted healthcare institution serving the community since 1955, our Code of Conduct reflects the hospital’s core values: integrity, respect, accountability, compassion, and excellence.

This Code serves as a guiding framework for all individuals associated with the hospital — including medical staff, nursing personnel, administrative teams, technical departments, support staff, students, volunteers, and vendors. It lays down clear expectations regarding professional behavior, interpersonal interactions, and responsibilities towards patients, colleagues, and the larger community.

  • Commitment to Patient-Centered Care

At TRSCH, patient welfare is our utmost priority. Every action, decision, and interaction must reflect our commitment to safety, dignity, and holistic well-being of patients.

    • Respect and Dignity : All patients must be treated with compassion, empathy, and without discrimination based on age, gender, religion, caste, economic status, or medical condition.
    • Confidentiality : Patient information is to be treated as strictly confidential. No personal or medical information should be disclosed without explicit consent unless mandated by law.
    • Informed Consent : Healthcare providers must ensure patients or their legal representatives are adequately informed about procedures, treatments, associated risks, and alternatives before obtaining consent.
    • Timely and Safe Care : Every staff member has a responsibility to ensure prompt attention and adherence to safety protocols, including hygiene, infection control, and clinical accuracy.

  • Professional Conduct and Integrity

Professionalism and honesty are non-negotiable aspects of working at Tirath Ram Shah Hospital. Every team member is expected to demonstrate the highest standards of ethical conduct.

    • Accuracy and Truthfulness : All records, documentation, and reporting (medical or administrative) must be accurate, complete, and truthful.
    • Conflict of Interest: Staff must disclose any personal, financial, or external interest that could influence their professional judgment or patient care.
    • Zero Tolerance for Corruption : Bribery, commission, or any form of unethical monetary exchange is strictly prohibited. Violations will result in disciplinary action, including legal proceedings.
    • Use of Resources : Hospital resources — including time, equipment, and infrastructure — must be used responsibly and only for authorized purposes.

  • Respectful Workplace Environment

We are committed to fostering a workplace culture that promotes mutual respect, inclusivity, and dignity for all.

    • Equal Opportunity : Discrimination or harassment in any form — whether based on gender, religion, disability, caste, language, or age — is unacceptable.
    • Anti-Harassment Policy : TRSCH has zero tolerance for sexual harassment, bullying, intimidation, or verbal abuse. Any such behavior must be reported promptly and will be dealt with sensitively and firmly.
    • Professional Boundaries : Staff should maintain respectful boundaries in all interactions, especially in hierarchical or mentor-mentee relationships.
    • Dress Code and Decorum : All personnel must maintain a professional appearance, wear appropriate uniforms or identification badges, and behave courteously.

  • Interdepartmental Collaboration and Teamwork

The strength of TRSCH lies in its ability to work cohesively across departments and functions.

    • Open Communication : Constructive dialogue, active listening, and transparency are encouraged across all levels.
    • Collaboration Over Competition : Departments and teams should work in synergy, avoiding internal conflicts, blame games, or siloed functioning.
    • Feedback Culture : Employees are encouraged to share suggestions, raise concerns, and participate in quality improvement initiatives without fear of retaliation.

Responsibility Towards Training, Learning, and Research

As a teaching and training hospital, TRSCH values continual learning and ethical research.

  • Clinical Training : Medical, nursing, and allied health students must be supervised adequately and treated with respect. Senior staff must model appropriate behavior.
  • Lifelong Learning : All staff are expected to stay updated with current medical practices, protocols, and advancements relevant to their roles.
  • Research Ethics : Research conducted under the hospital’s banner must adhere to ethical guidelines, including informed consent, transparency, and institutional approval.
Safety, Security, and Emergency Conduct

A safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff is a fundamental expectation.

  • Emergency Preparedness : All personnel must be aware of emergency codes (e.g., Code Blue, Fire Evacuation) and participate in periodic mock drills and trainings.
  • Workplace Safety : Hazardous materials, bio-medical waste, and equipment must be handled as per protocols. Immediate reporting of accidents or unsafe practices is mandatory.
  • Security Protocols : ID checks, restricted area access, visitor guidelines, and safeguarding of hospital property must be strictly followed.
Ethical Use of Technology and Digital Conduct

Digital behavior and information handling must be governed by professional ethics and institutional policies.

  • Confidentiality in Digital Media : Sharing of patient images, reports, or hospital data on social media or personal devices is strictly forbidden unless formally authorized.
  • Email and Communication Protocols : Official communication should be respectful, purposeful, and limited to work-related matters. Personal views or grievances must not be expressed using institutional email IDs or platforms.
  • Cybersecurity : Passwords, access credentials, and digital records must be handled securely. Unauthorized access or misuse of hospital systems will lead to disciplinary action.
Accountability and Grievance Redressal

Every member of the TRSCH family is responsible for their actions and expected to uphold institutional policies.

  • Compliance : Failure to adhere to the Code of Conduct may result in warnings, suspension, termination, or legal action, depending on the severity of the breach.
  • Grievance Mechanism : A structured grievance redressal mechanism exists for employees, patients, and caregivers to report ethical concerns or misconduct. Complaints will be handled confidentially and without prejudice.
  • Whistleblower Protection : Individuals who report genuine concerns or unethical behavior in good faith are protected from retaliation or victimization.

Responsibility Towards the Community

As a charitable hospital, TRSCH is deeply committed to social responsibility and equitable healthcare.

  • Service to the Underprivileged : Staff must uphold the hospital’s mission of serving economically weaker sections with dignity and fairness.
  • Community Outreach : Participation in health camps, awareness drives, and public health initiatives is encouraged and supported.
  • Environmental Sustainability : Eco-friendly practices, energy conservation, and responsible waste disposal are part of our collective duty.

The Code of Conduct at Tirath Ram Shah Charitable Hospital is not just a set of rules — it is a reflection of the values that define who we are. It reinforces our collective responsibility to serve with compassion, uphold integrity, and continuously strive for excellence in everything we do. By embracing this code, every member of TRSCH contributes to a culture of trust, respect, and outstanding patient care — ensuring that our hospital remains a sanctuary of healing, humanity, and hope for generations to come.
