in individual tamper proof packs with a shelf life of 3 years. Besides, the hospital also gets its resuscitative tubings of all intensive care areas, ambu bags, nebuliser tubings & masks gamma sterilised intermittently for multiple uses. Its been scientifically tried and tested by using single use devices multiple times after radiation sterilisation. Being a cold process, radiation sterilization does not jeopardize the function of medical devices.
Scientific Approach : All these pre-packed comprehensive packs for different procedures are marked with radiation indicators made available from Sri Ram Radiation Centre. Post radiation, these indicators - stuck on the outside of the packages change their colour to red. Besides, DOSIMETRY Report, batch-wise, is provided which specifies the radiation exposure dose which is a proof of the product being guaranteed as sterile.
